BANKING

What Happened

JPMorgan Chase ranked first on the Fortune AIQ 75, which ranks Fortune 500 companies on their AI deployment and maturity. A dozen financial firms made the list, the second most represented group, including BNY, Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo and Capital One.

Bank of America runs a roughly $14 billion annual technology budget, with more than $4 billion earmarked for AI and other new initiatives. Its EricaAssist tool helps more than 18,000 customer service representatives reduce average call times by nearly one minute per interaction. Wells Fargo has seen a 31 percent increase in product sales for licensed branch bankers aided by AI. Citigroup says 87 percent of its employees have adopted its Stylus tool, and BNY has grown from 160 AI initiatives in production to nearly 400.

Why It Matters

For PE backed operators in healthcare, insurance and financial services, these results show where AI pays back: inside specific workflows such as service calls, sales support and document work. Large banks now measure returns in minutes saved and sales gained.

What to Do Now

Pick one high volume workflow, such as customer service calls, and measure its current time and cost. Pilot a narrowly scoped AI tool inside the systems your staff already use, then track adoption and results before expanding.

WHERE XTAM FITS

You don't need a $14 billion technology budget to get these returns. XTAM builds production-grade AI inside your existing stack, starting with a 60-day Phase 0 feasibility sprint.
